NK ADAMANT Obtains KTR Medical Device Certification for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Chamber, Expanding Its Medical Device Business

  • Advanced pressure control and safety technologies position the company for accelerated growth in the HBOT market

NK Corporation (KOSPI: 085310) announced that its defense subsidiary, NK ADAMANT, has officially entered the medical Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) market after obtaining KTR certification for Medical Device Manufacturing and Quality Management Systems (Certification No. KTR-AABAA-26783) from the Korea Testing & Research Institute (KTR).

The certification marks a significant milestone in extending NK Group's more than 40 years of expertise in industrial high-pressure vessels and defense technologies into the medical device industry.

NK ADAMANT's Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Chambers are designed and manufactured in accordance with the globally recognized ASME STAMP standards throughout the entire production process, ensuring exceptional structural integrity and safety. The chambers also incorporate 14 treatment protocols based on the U.S. Navy Diving Manual, providing effective treatment capabilities for both emergency conditions and chronic diseases.

The company emphasizes that its technological capabilities clearly differentiate it from conventional medical device manufacturers. NK ADAMANT possesses core technologies developed for submarine high-pressure systems, which must operate reliably under extreme conditions, as well as hydrogen energy solutions for high-pressure charging, storage, and transportation that require rigorous safety standards.

These deep-tech capabilities create a strong competitive advantage in the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy market, where precise pressure control and uncompromising safety are fundamental requirements.

Leveraging globally proven expertise gained from the submarine and hydrogen industries, NK ADAMANT has integrated advanced high-pressure system technologies—including vibration and noise control, safety mechanisms, and manufacturing know-how—into the development of its HBOT chambers.

Beyond supplying medical equipment, the company aims to provide the safest possible treatment environment for both patients and healthcare professionals while rapidly expanding its presence in the HBOT market.

In parallel with its commercial activities, NK ADAMANT is conducting collaborative research with the Brain Engineering Research Center at DGIST (Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology) on non-invasive treatments for neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's disease and schizophrenia. The company is also pursuing additional research in veterinary medicine, sports medicine, and men's urology, further expanding the potential applications of its high-pressure medical platform.

An NK ADAMANT representative commented:

"A Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Chamber is far more than a medical device—it is a highly sophisticated high-pressure system where engineering integrity and uncompromising safety are essential. This is an area in which NK has established world-class expertise. Building on the technological leadership we have developed through submarine and hydrogen technologies, we are committed to becoming a leading global provider of advanced medical devices.“
